Egypt’s deposed president Mohammed Morsi is well and closely following news of the current crisis in his country, the European Union’s foreign policy chief told reporters after meeting him in military detention.
Baroness Ashton of Upholland spoke with Mr Morsi for two hours at an undisclosed location outside Cairo on Monday night, the first outsider to see him since he was removed from power by the military nearly a month ago, sparking violent clashes between his supporters and security forces.
